Power Generation for Alaska’s North Slope Communities
TDX North Slope Generating, Inc. (NSG) owns and operates the regulated natural gas- and diesel fuel-fired power generation plant and electric distribution system located in Deadhorse, Alaska. The company serves Prudhoe Bay oil service companies. Since acquiring the facility in 2002, TDX Power has invested more than $8 million in improvements, upgrades, and retrofits. Among the most extensive upgrades was the design and installation of a state-of-the-art, arctic-grade, medium-voltage distribution system that interacts seamlessly with adjacent telecommunications and natural gas distribution systems in the same utilidor. NSG has significantly increased reliability and reduced costs, attracting many major, self-generating customers back to the utility grid.
