Client: Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District
Location: Mill Creek Dam, Washington

This project was completed by TDX in the summer of 2020 during the in-water window (July through October 2020) for this watershed. This project consisted of the removal and replacement of 36 Diversion Dam concrete diffuser baffles though hydro demolition. Hydro-demolition was selected as the preferred mechanism to achieve this task and still maintain the integrity of the rebar and existing anchors in each baffle block. This project also included the installation of radial gate safety stops. This required core-drilling within the radial gate pier walls, and the metal fabrication of steel safety stops for the Diversion Dam radial gates. The pin sleeves had to be installed within 1/16” tolerance! A very successful project.
