Replace Diesel Generator & Appurtenances
.
This project was located on St, Paul Island in the central Bering Sea, within the Pribilof Islands group. As resources are very limited on this remote Alaska island, all tools, equipment, materials, aggregate, cement, temporary generator, and groceries had to be barged in. This work included the demolition of existing facilities, removal of the old generator, ATS Switch, conduits, and enclosure. New construction included foundation, new enclosure building and installation of new electrical generator (Kohler 80KW, 120/208V, 3 Phase, Diesel indoor unit). Weather conditions on St. Paul are extremely harsh with continuous rain, winds exceeding 17 knots, fog, and temperatures ranging from the mid 40’s. This station is subject to both extreme weather and salt deterioration.
